Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. Sobriety Copilot is a recovery-support application designed to help users interact with 12-step literature and resources. Because this app handles sensitive wellness data, we have established a strict, transparent privacy framework.

1. Data We Access and How We Use It

• Audio / Microphone Access: Used exclusively when you choose to dictate prompts or record voice input for the assistant. The audio is converted to text on your device or sent securely to your self-hosted API for transcription. We do not store or share your voice files.
• Camera and Photos: Used only when you attach photos of recovery literature or documents to scan them into the chat input box using OCR (Optical Character Recognition). This text extraction is performed entirely on your device.
• Location Data: Used to search for local recovery meetings (A.A./N.A.) near you. Your location is queried against the BMLT (Bread of Life) meeting feed server and is never stored, tracked, or associated with your identity.

2. Data Security and Transmission

All chat communications, search queries, and document requests are transmitted securely over encrypted channels (HTTPS) to your designated self-hosted RAG backend server. No chat histories, location lookups, or user credentials are sent to third-party ad networks, analytics engines, or trackers.

3. Data Deletion and User Control

Your chat history is stored locally on your device and can be cleared at any time from the app's settings. Since we do not host or store your personal data on central cloud servers, you have absolute ownership and control over your records.
